Origins of Davo's Diner | |||
Davo's Diner was birthed from the idea of one very special 6 year old boy. After spending the weekend at his grandparents, David Anderson came home to his father, gave him $40 he had raised and proclaimed "this is to help feed the people." David's dad, John, did not know what Dave was talking about or how to respond so he just said "sure" and didn't think another thing about it. Davo was persistent though and kept asking John when they were going to feed the people? It was shortly after that that God began to deal with John about David's vision. Sleep escaped him as he struggled with listening to what God was trying to tell him. John felt sure that what he was supposed to spearhead a dinner for folks who are lonely, hurting, and struggling on Christmas Day. The First Davo's Diner had some struggles, but was an incredible blessing. An unexpected ice storm on Christmas Day kept some folks away, but we were able to minister to and feed over 500 people. That was only the beginning. Davo's Diner promises to be an incredible opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ in a hurting world.
